IGFA record catch by Texas angler pending:

Texas angler, Stan Nabozny of The Woodlands, also landed a smallmouth buffalo while fly fishing Lake Livingston, on March 5.  Guided by Kirk Kirland, Nabozny was using a shrimp fly attached to 6 kg (12 lb) tippet, to catch the fish which weighed 4.76 kg (10 lb 8 oz). He released the fish after documenting. If approved he’ll be the first angler for that IGFA tippet record.

Friday, 20 February 2009

Attending an Orvis fly-fishing school is your best bet, and we have schools across the country, but perhaps you’ve already taken a class and are looking for the next step. A guided fishing trip is another way to learn, but let’s face it—few of us have the time to go on enough guided fishing trips a year to feed our fly-fishing addiction.
